We are in the process of making Egyptian necklaces using different techniques and skills including painting and sewing.
We had fun on St George's day creating dragon masks and re-telling George and the Dragon in Comic Strips.
We worked in groups to design and create a Viking figurehead. We used papier mache to cover a balloon. Then we added additional features before covering them in more papier mache. Once it was dry, we painted our figureheads.
We are able to sort 2D shapes in different ways and talk about our findings.

We went on a walk around our sensory garden to gather a range of 'Autumn vocabulary'. We used this vocabulary to create some Autumn poems.

We can use multibase to practically solve word problems in maths.
In maths, we used counters to represent 3 and 4 digit numbers. We also used the counters to help us solve a range of maths questions.
Practical maths using counters
In science, we looked at the effects of heating and cooling solids such as chocolate. During our lesson, we heated solid chocolate until it became a liquid. Once it was a liquid, we mixed it with cornflakes and used a spoon to place some of the mixture into bun cases. As it cooled, the chocolate returned to a solid.
Painting to music - We listened to two different movements from the Pastoral Symphony by Beethoven (1st and 4th) and after each movement, we created a painting.
