We are looking forward to having lots of fun and engaging in even more learning this year at nursery.
We have 16 new children due to start at nursery this term and we look forward to getting to know all of them. We hope that they truly enjoy their nursery experience at Mary Deans. We are sure that those children who are remaining in nursery for another year before going to school will enjoy showing the new children around and supporting them.
Our theme this term is 'TOYS' and we have lots of exciting activities planned based around this topic and many others that the children will lead us to engage in no doubt!
Keep an eye on this page to see updates regarding what we get up to at nursery and look out for pictures of your child. If you have any questions, concerns or worries please come and speak to us.
Mrs. Baker and the nursery team.
The children have enjoyed using sprayers to make 'puddles' outside and to spray paint pictures. They have also used marbling inks to create some very beautiful pictures - we floated the inks on some water and took prints of them with some paper.
Today we tried to find out what the children already know about Space. Several said the moon is made of cheese! Another child told me it is made of rock. Lots of children knew you had to wear special clothes in space. Some children said that you float about in space. Over the next few weeks we are hoping to build on this knowledge, so chat to your child to see what new information about space they can tell you!
The Spring term 2016 starts here! Happy New Year.
This term our theme is 'Transport'.
Dotty Day to raise money for RNIB.... FRIDAY 23RD OCTOBER 2015 - The Foundation Stage raised £108.15p!!! Wow!!! Well done! What great fun we had too...learning about what it might be like to be visually impaired , wearing simspecs to experience what it feels like not to be able to see very well, feeling braille and engaging in lots of dotty activities.
Welcome to our class page!
We are now all settled and fairly familiar with our daily routines even though some of us only started in nursery this term!
Our topic for the Autumn term 1 is 'Ourselves' and we have split this into weekly themes to support the children's learning. Look out for our weekly focus board in the cloakroom area to give you more information and ideas for helping your children's learning at home.
If you have any worries/concerns/questions about your child please come and chat to us! Mrs.Baker
